IMD predicts warmer day in Delhi-NCR, heavy rainfall in Arunachal | All weather details

By India Today News Desk: After receiving light to heavy showers in the last few days and experiencing a ‘winter day’ in one of the hottest months of the year, Delhi-NCR is set to witness a warmer day ahead, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

While Delhiites have experienced cooler weather in the last few days, IMD predicted the weather could change once again in the country. According to the weather agency, northwest India may experience light to heavy showers on May 6-7.

New Delhi

According to the meteorological department, the minimum temperature in the national capital on Friday could be recorded at 19 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 34 degrees Celsius. Some parts of Delhi may remain cloudy. The city may witness light showers on May 6-7.

Uttar Pradesh

The minimum temperature in Lucknow on Friday is expected to go below 22 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 34 degrees Celsius.

An increase in temperature is expected in Lucknow in the coming days. In Ghaziabad, the minimum temperature could be recorded at 22 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 33 degrees Celsius. Ghaziabad may experience light showers from May 6 to May 7.

Arunachal Pradesh

According to the weather department, the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is likely to witness heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms on Friday.

Rain in other places

According to the meteorological department, Andaman and Nicobar may receive heavy rainfall from May 6 to 7. Weather forecasting agency Skymet predicted light to moderate rain in some places in Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu on Friday. The rest of the Western Himalayas may also receive light to moderate rain and light snowfall in higher reaches.

Latest satellite imagery showed moderate to intense convection over northwest Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe and adjoining south interior Karnataka. These regions may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds during the night.
