By Ritvick Arun Bhalekar: Maharashtra’s Leader of Opposition and NCP leader Ajit Pawar welcomed Sharad Pawar’s decision to continue to head the party.
“Pawar Saheb’s decision to remain as the National President of the Nationalist Congress Party boosts the enthusiasm of the party workers and is the strength of the Maha Vikas Aghadi,” Ajit Pawar said in an official statement.
“The Nationalist Congress Party is a family and under the leadership of Saheb, the party will achieve brilliant success in the state and the country. Everyone should take more responsibility in taking care of Pawar Saheb’s age and health,” he added.

Ajit Pawar will visit Pune, Satara, Osmanabad, Latur, Nashik for eight days starting on Saturday.
After the committee’s decision to reject Sharad Pawar’s resignation, the members met him at his Silver Oak residence, following which Sharad Pawar announced his decision to continue as the party president at a press briefing.
However, Ajit Pawar’s absence at the briefing once again created a buzz about him being miffed with the whole episode. His official statement is being seen as clearing the air of suspicion.
