By Dev Ankur Wadhawan: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot took a jibe at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday and questioned the delay in action in paper leak cases.
Addressing a large gathering in Rajasthan’s Barmer, Pilot said, “Why do we have to struggle today? Our right, which is given in law, in the Constitution, why do we have to request to get it? Why do we have to face all the challenges? When the children of the poor sit on all the seats, then all the work will be done.”

He said, “Today, when our children are pained, does our heart not ache? When our girls, who have been sitting at Jantar Mantar for so many days, allege harassment, they are pained. Does our heart not ache? Today, our children who have studied for years, their parents strive hard to make ends meet and for their tuition, get them to study. They give exams, papers get leaked, get cancelled.”
“Why does it take so much time to take action? Because on those chairs, those people are not sitting whose hearts ache, who would know the value of Rs 10,000, Rs 50,000,” Sachin Pilot said.
Pilot was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of a hostel made in remembrance of Virendra Chaudhary, son of Barmer MLA Hemaram Chaudhary.

The former Rajasthan Deputy CM also once again took a jibe at Gehlot over the issue of corruption. Sachin Pilot sat on a symbolic fast on April 11 demanding an investigation into cases of corruption raised during the tenure of Vasundhara Raje as CM.
“We will have to strengthen our voice against corruption if it happens anywhere in the state or country. I strengthened my voice against corruption. Some people may not have liked it, but it does not affect me. I will continue my fight against corruption because it has been eating all of us like termites,” Pilot stated.
At least half a dozen major examination paper leaks have rocked Rajasthan since the Congress came to power in 2018. The Opposition has also accused the Ashok Gehlot government of failing to curb the menace.
