By Suryagni Roy: As violence grips the northeastern state of Manipur, security forces will soon start conducting aerial surveillance along the Indo-Myanmar border in the state. According to defence sources, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will be used to monitor the areas apart from physical vigils.
Defence sources told India Today this surveillance aims to address the new security dimension posed by Manipur valley-based insurgent groups residing in camps across the border, potentially hindering efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
