By Abdul Basheer: A three-year-old girl lost three fingers of her right hand after her hand got stuck in a machine at a Hyderabad mall when she was busy playing.
The victim’s father, Syed Maqsood Ali, filed a complaint with the Banjara Hills Police Station. He told police that the incident took place last Saturday around 2.45 pm when he, along with his wife, niece and his three children, went to the City Centre mall’s Smash Zone on Road Number 1, Banjara Hills.

He said a nearby machine was kept uncovered, parts of which were visible and it was functioning without any safety measures.
Ali said his 3-year-old daughter’s right hand got sucked into the machine and her left hand’s tip index finger got crushed when she was playing.
He said doctors at Yashoda Hospital had to amputate three fingers of her right hand as they were not able to reattach them.

After the incident, no staff was available to look after the children playing in the Smash Zone, claimed Ali.
“This incident occurred due to the negligence of the staff and mall management. When we approached the management for the CCTV footage of the incident, they said they had deleted it. Hence, he sought legal action against the City Center mall management,” he said.
The Banjara Hills police has registered a case under Sections 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety or others) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and started investigation.
