The pair of Donald (male) and Daisy (female) penguins laid a single egg and a female chick named ‘Dora’ was hatched on February 21. Another breeding pair, Molt (male) and Flipper (female) also laid a single egg, and a female chick was hatched on October 2, 2022, who has been named Siri. The third chick named Nemo was hatched by the breeding pair Popeye (male) and Olive (female) on December 13, 2022.

Zoo authorities further informed that another penguin pair, Oreo and Bubble are expected lay eggs in the coming month of June.

Visitors can enjoy meeting these new visitors from May 11.

Currently, Byculla Zoo is witnessing a high influx of visitors on account of summer vacations. The newborn cubs and chicks will be the additional attraction for the visitors.
