By Anirban Sinha Roy: West Bengal government to upgrade the security of the former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, sources told India Today on Tuesday.

The former Indian cricket captain, who until now was entitled to get ‘Y’ category security from the government, will be given Z-category security.

Sources known to Ganguly said no such request was put forth from their side, but Nabanna (administrative office of the West Bengal government) had provided it.

“They think that Sourav Ganguly should get the Z category security,” said the source.

All other celebrities and sports personalities get such security across the country.
