By India Today News Desk: Months after Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) spokesperson Sivaji Krishnamoorthy was temporarily suspended for his derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, the party on Wednesday revoked the suspension orders after the leader tendered an apology.
The party had suspended Krishnamoorthy in January this year, after he sparked a controversy with his remarks against Governor Ravi.
“If the Governor refuses to utter the name of Ambedkar in his assembly speech, don’t I have the right to assault him? If you (governor) don’t read out the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir and we will send terrorists so that they will gun you down,” Krishnamoorthy said.

A video of his derogatory speech had gone viral on social media in January. In the visuals, Governor Ravi could be seen exiting the state Assembly as CM Stalin was seated. A complaint was then registered by BJP leaders and Deputy Secretary to the Governor, Prasanna Ramasamy, with Chennai police commissioner.
The DMK responded to the comments by suspending its leader for party’s unlawful activities, pertaining to his derogatory comments against the governor.
Tamil Nadu Government and Governor RN Ravi were at the loggerheads as the latter refused to give ascent to the bills passed in the Assembly. Besides, the feud was due to the governor skipping references to the founder of Periyar and mentioning the ” Dravidian model of governance” instead in his speech.
