We have power and potential: JP Nadda tells BJP leaders ahead of Mumbai civic polls

[ad_1]

By Saurabh Vaktania: Ahead of the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Wednesday embarked on a two-day visit to Mumbai where he met several local leaders and party workers.

During his program at Kandivali for Panna Pramukh Sammelan, JP Nadda said that in the upcoming BMC elections, the mayor must be elected from BJP. Reiterating Nadda’s pitch, even BJP’s Mumbai president Ashish Shelar said that for upcoming BMC elections, the mayor will be from NDA – BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction).

“I won’t comment on the Maha Vikas Aghadi (Sena-UTB, Congress and the NCP), but during their regime all projects and development work were stopped. You all are aware about the corrupt government that time. Our mayor should be elected in the upcoming BMC elections. We have potential and power for the same,” Nadda said.

“All parties are diluting on the matter of ideologies. We are the only party whose ideologies don’t change. We removed Article 370 in Kashmir. They made fun of us on Ramlalla issue, they said waqt nahi batayege. We gave them the time as well. Atal ji did testing of nuclear in Pokhran. We are the party, where we do, what we say,” the BJP chief said.

Hitting out at the Congress, Nadda said, “We are cadre party, we are not Congress or China party. We are a party followed by the masses. We have government in 15 states of the country”.

The senior BJP leader also slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi, saying that both Uddhav’s Shiv Sena and the NCP are family party.

“It’s only BJP which is common people’s party. In Congress no decision is taken other than by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi, while others keep ringing bell,” Nadda said.

During his visit to the financial capital, BJP national president will also interact with prominent personalities of the society and also participate in a skill development programme during his visit.
