Aamir Khan, who has introduced us to the Rs. 100 cr, Rs. 200 cr, and Rs. 300 cr club with his films witnessed a massive setback in 2022 with his much-awaited Laal Singh Chaddha facing a massive backlash. Expectations were riding high on this remake of the Oscar winning Tom Hanks film Forrest Gump. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh discussed with Bollywood Hungama, about Aamir films failing to make a mark at the box office, we wondered if the actor required a reality check.

While Taran Adarsh disagreed about Aamir Khan being someone who doesn’t have a reality check, he asserted that the superstar always takes up opinions and suggestions related to his work quite seriously. “Aamir Khan is grounded. He shows his film to everyone before its release and also takes their opinion. I had seen the film (Laal Singh Chaddha) before its release, and I didn’t like it and I had told him that, but he accepted it. So, he does get a reality check. But what happens is, a sometimes the target misses the mark,” Taran Adarsh told Bollywood Hungama.
The trade analyst also explored the possibility of the actor going through a low phase in his career – a lull phase that every superstar from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan have experienced in their professional lives. “Every actor goes through a lull phase like Shah Rukh Khan did have one before Pathaan, Amitabh Bachchan did, after which, he took up character roles like Mohabbatein. Salman Khan too had that phase after which he got Wanted.” However, Taran also asserted that Aamir will surely a second chance from his viewers and fans which will help him bounce back to his form. “A good actor always gets an opportunity from the audience. Aamir Khan too will get that chance,” concluded the analyst.
Before Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan also faced a similar situation during his last release, YRF’s Thugs of Hindostan which brought him together with Amitabh Bachchan for the first time, and it also starred Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, among others.
