By Shibimol KG: The Kerala Police has arrested a 19-year-old girl for allegedly hiring a gang to kidnap and beat up a man. Police arrested the accused, Lakshmipriya from Varkala, after rescuing the youth, who was thrashed and abandoned naked on the roadside in Ernakulam.
Police later arrested the seven members of the gang. All accused have been remanded in judicial custody.

According to the police, Lakshmipriya was in a relationship with the victim, Shivaram. She later got closer to another man from Ernakulam. Shivaram did not back off from the relationship even as Lakshmipriya moved away.
Police said Lakshmipriya sought the help of her new boyfriend to get rid of Shivaram.

Police said the boyfriend contacted the gang of goons, who located Shivaram through WhatsApp.
They said Lakshmipriya went to Shivaram’s house along with her new boyfriend and the gang, who took him along with them.
Shivaram was allegedly beaten up on the way. Police said the gang took him to a house and forced him to drink liquor and smoke weed.
The gang later stripped him naked and assaulted him again. Lakshmipriya recorded the act and threatened to circulate it if he refused to refrain from pursuing her.
