‘Kejriwal speaking Atiq Ahmed’s language’: BJP slams Delhi CM over liquor policy row

[ad_1]

By Akshay Dongare: BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh and party’s Delhi Unit chief Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the AAP leader “forgot the decorum of language and spoke a criminal’s language”.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Virendra Sachdeva said, “Today, after a long time, we saw Arvind Kejriwal come out of his nest. We saw the frustration of Arvind Kejriwal today. A person who is sitting on a constitutional post, forgot the decorum of language. He spoke a criminal language.”

“Arvind Kejriwal spoke the language of Atiq Ahmed. We saw similarities between the two – that is usually the case between two criminals,” the BJP leader said.

This comes after Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), saying that there was no liquor policy scam. Kejriwal, who has been summoned by the CBI on Sunday in connection with the liquor policy scam, said the ED and CBI misled the court and lied under oath to frame Manish Sisodia.

The AAP supremo underlined that the excise policy, which is at the centre of attention, was an excellent policy and was doing well in Punjab, where the party is in power.

In response to Arvind Kejriwal’s claims, BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva said, If this policy was correct, then why did you take it back soon after the probe started? Why did you wave off Rs 144 crore worth of licencing fees to the liquor mafia? Why is Vijay Nair, one of the accused in this excise scam, living in the bungalow of Kailash Gehlot?

Parvesh Sahib Singh added, “Today, we saw that Arvind Kejriwal was scared. It seems that he has a hint that he may get caught.”

“If you’ve done corruption, no power in the world can stop you from going to jail,” he added.
