By India Today Web Desk: Police have revealed Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) links to gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, who were gunned down by three shooters on Saturday night. They said he was the leader of the IS 227 gang and his brother, Ashraf, was an active member of the same.

Atiq had said in a statement that he had links with Pak-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and ISI and received arms dropped through Pakistani drones in Punjab.

Atiq and Ashraf told police that they knew the address of the people who delivered them the arms but could not locate them from jail and would be able to tell only if they reached the location.

They also said that the arms used in the murder of Umesh Pal were received from Pak-based agencies.
