By India Today News Desk: Three members of a family, including a 7-year-old boy, died after a fire broke out at a residential building in Telangana on Sunday. Four others were injured in the accident.
The fire broke out around 4 am at a timber depot and spread to the nearby three-storied building in the Kushaiguda area.
The deceased were identified as Naresh, 37, his wife (32), and their son, who was seven years old.
According to the police, the smoke spread to the second floor of the building, where the couple and their son were located in one of the flats. As per police reports, the family died due to asphyxiation and burns.
Reports also revealed that the four other occupants of the building suffered minor injuries while some of them managed to escape as the fire engulfed the building.

As many as four fire engines immediately reached the spot and the fire was doused after a while.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the fire had been set off by a short circuit at a timber store and that a gas cylinder later exploded, which led to the blaze.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi announced Rs 6 lakh ex-gratia (Rs 2 lakh each) to the kin of the deceased.
