By India Today News Desk: Police on Monday located Umesh Pal murder accused Guddu Muslim in Karnataka. Guddu is the only surviving Umesh Pal attacker. Guddu Muslim allegedly hurled crude bombs in the shootout where Umesh Pal was shot dead. CCTV footage captured Guddu Muslim hurling crude bombs at Pal and his police gunners.
As many as six people related to gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, including himself, have been killed in less than two months since Umesh Pal and two policemen were shot dead outside his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. The list of six includes Atiq, his son Asad, associates Arbaz, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman and Ghulam Hassan.
Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, was shot dead on February 24 at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, police said. Raju Pal was murdered months after winning the Allahabad (West) assembly seat in his electoral debut by defeating Former MP Atiq Ahmed’s younger brother Khalid Azim.
Umesh Pal was shot dead by an unidentified man while he was getting out of the backseat of a Hyundai Creta SUV in Prayagraj. CCTV footage shows Umesh Pal and one of his two police bodyguards getting out of the SUV when suddenly a man came from behind and shot him.
The first encounter in the Umesh Pal murder case happened on February 27 when Arbaz, who drove the SUV of the assailants of Umesh Pal, was killed in Prayagraj. This was followed by the encounter of Vijay alias Usman on March 6, again in Prayagraj. these two were also accused of killing Umesh Pal.
