Acting upon the tip, the jawans launched a special operation and spotted a motorcycle rider heading towards Dobila from the village of Amudia.

Upon stopping the rider, he attempted to flee but was apprehended by the jawans, who discovered five gold biscuits tied to his thigh with cello tape.

The police seized gold weighing 581.27 grams, valued at Rs 36 lakh.

During interrogation, the accused, named Devashish Devnath, revealed that he received a call via WhatsApp from a Bangladeshi resident named Gogan Mandal, 15 days ago.

Mandal instructed him to deliver the gold biscuits to a person named Nayan of Sayesta Nagar, for which he would be paid Rs. 2,000.
