By India Today News Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was spotted interacting with people as he enjoyed different delicacies at Delhi’s Bengali market near Connaught Place and the Chandni Chowk area.

A day ago, the Congress leader was busy electioneering in poll-bound Karnataka, which is set to go to the polls on May 10.

At the Bengali Market, Rahul Gandhi enjoyed gol gappe as his cohort of bodyguards formed a cordon around him and stood guard.

He then went to Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, where Ramzan festivities are underway with streets lined up with a host of mouth-watering delicacies and drinks cool enough to provide relief amid the sweltering heat.

Hundreds of people thronged the streets in Chandni Chowk to get a glimpse of the former MP who tried a little bit of everything that the area had to offer.

He tried a watermelon-based drink at the ‘Mohabbat ka Sharbat’ stall and then went straight to Al Jawahar Restaurant to try out the kebabs. Food writer and blogger Kunal Vijaykar gave the Congress leader company to clean off the plates.

Rahul Gandhi interacted with people and posed for photos even as he took the food walk in Old Delhi’s most congested area during this time of the year.

Rahul Gandhi is busy campaigning for the Congress candidates set to fight the Karnataka election. He has also raised the pitch for a census-based census and called for removing the cap of 50% reservation. He has also made several poll promises that the Congress would fulfil if the party is voted to power in Karnataka.

The Congress leader has also been meeting other party leaders to put up a united front against the ruling BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Recently, Rahul Gandhi lost his membership to the Lok Sabha after a court in Gujarat’s Surat sentenced him in a 2019 defamation case.
