By India Today News Desk: Helmets are a must while riding a bike or a scooty in India. Failure to comply with the law invites penalty. Normally, police personnel are on a lookout for violators and issue challan if one is seen riding a two-wheeler without helmet. But in a surprising twist, two cops were confronted by two women for not following traffic rules in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
A video, which has been shared multiple times on social media, shows two Uttar Pradesh cops on a bike without either of them wearing a helmet. The video was recorded by two women who followed the police personnel.
In the video, the women can be heard saying, “Where is your helmet? Are the rules only for the public? Don’t the rules apply to you?”.
They can be heard asking, “Helmet kahaan hai? (Where is your helmet).”
After the video went viral, the Ghaziabad traffic police took cognizance of the incident. On the basis of the number plate of the bike seen in the video, a challan was issued, imposing a fine of Rs 1,000 on the cops.
