[ad_1]

By Manjeet Negi: After a long wait, government appointed former Special Protection Group chief Arun Sinha as the Chairman of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO).

Till now, 1984 batch Kerala cadre IPS officer Arun Sinha was Acting Chairman NTRO. Sinha, a 1987 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre, has been working as the chief of the SPG since March 2016. The post had been lying vacant for over three to four months and with this, the government is also now likely to clear appointments for the heads of the border security force and the Indian Coast Guard too.

Currently, the Border Security Force (BSF) is being looked after by the CRPF chief, Thaosen. He is serving as the director general (DG) of the CRPF, the government’s largest paramilitary force, and is also handling the additional charge of helming the BSF. The coast guard chief post is also lying vacant since January 31.
