By Suryagni Roy: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has been arrested for sending threatening messages to Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Aparupa Poddar from Arambagh in Hooghly, West Bengal.
Aparupa Poddar, Trinamool Congress MP, said that a threat message was sent to her on WhatsApp on Tuesday night.
At around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, she received a message from an unknown number which read, “Tui Bachbi Toh? (Will you be saved?)”.

Poddar filed a complaint at Srirampur police station on Wednesday. The police initiated an investigation and arrested a BJP worker, Amlan Datta, from Sheoraphuli in Hooghly district.
Local BJP leaders said that Datta was arrested over political vindictiveness.
