Trains cancelled, diverted after goods train derails in Tamil Nadu | Details

By India Today News Desk: Several passenger trains were cancelled or diverted after a goods train derailed between Marandahalli and Rayakottai stations in Tamil Nadu on Friday.

“A goods train derailed between Marandahalli and Rayakottai stations in the Dharmapuri-Hosur section of Bengaluru division of the South Western Railway,” reported news agency ANI.

“Blocking the Up and Down lines in the said Section. Restoration work is underway. Inconvenience caused is regretted, tweeted DRM Bengaluru.

South Western Railway also took to Twitter to inform about the incident. “No injuries have been reported. Unloading of derailed wagons is going on as part of restoration,” it tweeted.

LIST OF TRAINS CANCELLED

Due to derailment of goods trains, some trains are being diverted via Jolarpettai-Tiruppatur instead of Dharmapuri-Hosur route, reported ANI.
