No disapproval either…: Sanjay Raut on Sharad Pawar’s reaction to Saamana blog

[ad_1]

By Pankaj Upadhyay: There is no political misunderstanding between Sanjay Raut and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP said, adding that the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi is intact. His remarks came when he was asked about Sharad Pawar’s reaction to the blog Raut wrote in Sena outlet Saamana about the BJP’s alleged plan to break up the NCP.

Calling Ajit Pawar a “sweet man”, Sanjay Raut said there is no question of bitterness as the two recently had dinner together and would meet again for further discussions. “Let him say (‘Who’s Sanjay Raut?’). There are no differences and no cracks in the MVA,” he said.

In a press conference on April 21, a visibly miffed Ajit Pawar asked, “Who is Sanjay Raut?”. He was asked to comment on the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader. This further fuelled speculation that all’s not well in the MVA.

The blog, written by Sanajy Raut in party mouthpiece Saamna, has become a talking point in Maharashtra’s politics. The Sena claimed they knew of the BJP’s plan to create friction within the MVA and hence, busted the plan in time.

In the blog, Raut charged that a plan was afoot to break the NCP to compensate for the 16 Shinde MLAs who would be disqualified.

Asked if the controversial article in Saamna had the approval of Sharad Pawar, the Sena leader said there was no disapproval either.

Speaking about his meeting with Sharad Pawar just after industrialist Gautam Adani met the NCP chief, Raut said,“I don’t keep Sharad Pawar’s meeting calendar with me. So, whenever I have to meet him, I go. On April 20, too, I met him and had a meeting,” he said.
