By Manjeet Sehgal, Satender Chauhan: A man entered a court in Punjab’s Rupnagar with a revolver when Jasbir Singh, accused of sacrilege, was being produced in court following his two-day remand.
The man, who entered the court with a revolver, has been identified as Saheb Singh Khurl. He is a resident of Morinda and is a lawyer. The police have arrested him and are questioning him. Khurl was upset about the sacrilege at the Rupnagar Gurudwara.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann assured of action after a video of sacrilege at a gurdwara in Punjab’s Morinda surfaced on social media. In the video, Jasbir Singh was seen entering the sanctum sanctorum of Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib in Morinda, hitting the two granthis (priests) and desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib.
Another video showed the accused, Jasbir Singh, being overpowered by devotees inside the gurdwara and beaten up. He was later handed over to the police and an FIR was registered against him.
