By Anupam Mishra: The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) arrested another suspected terrorist on Saturday. This is the second such arrest within a week in the state. The suspect has been identified as Nannu Mia, 40, who hails from Dinhata in Coochbihar.
He was apprehended in Howrah in connection with an investigation of the Shashan Police Station case. The case is currently being investigated by the STF West Bengal under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Mia is due to be presented before the Lt court today.
According to police sources, several incriminating documents have been seized from Mia.

The STF West Bengal is investigating the Shashan case in North 24 Parganas, where two suspected terrorists were arrested in August 2022 for their alleged links with Al Qaeda. The two individuals were members of Al Qaeda, with one of them being the operation in-charge of West Bengal.
Last week, the West Bengal STF arrested a suspected terrorist of Al Qaeda from Hooghly district. Today’s arrest is believed to be linked to the Shashan case.
The STF West Bengal has been taking strong action against terrorism and has been successful in apprehending several individuals with links to terrorist organizations.
