By Divyesh Singh: Three Naxalites, including a dalam commander, were killed in an encounter with police’s C60 Commandos in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli on Sunday evening.
The encounter took place in the forest at Kedmara between Mane Rajaram and Perimili armed outpost.
The police had received information that Naxals were camping in the forest. Based on the information, two C60 parties were launched by Gadchiroli police to conduct a search operation in the jungle.

While the search operation was underway, the C60 parties were fired upon by the Naxals. Three Naxal commanders were killed in the exchange of fire and their bodies were recovered, along with weapons and other materials.
The Naxals have been identified as Bitlu Madavi, commander of Perimili Dalam, Vasu of Perimili Dalam and Srikant of Aheri Dalam. Bitlu Madavi was the prime accused in the murder of a student on March 9.
A search operation launched following the encounter is still ongoing.
