By India Today News Desk: A rape accused died by suicide after a case was registered against him and another for allegedly raping a 14-year-old minor girl in Maharashtra. The incident took place in Indapur taluka of the Pune district. The two accused were identified as Arjun Kumar and Ramesh Raghunath More.
After the case was registered at the police station, one of the accused died by suicide.
As per Baramati Dy SP Ganesh Ingale, “There is Arjun Kumbhar Veet Bhatti in the Shetfalgade area of Indapur taluka. Both Arjun Kumar and Ramesh Raghunath More raped a 14-year-old minor girl working at the furnace who had an illegal relationship with a man from the village.”

“After five months, when the girl complained about stomach pain, it was revealed and a case was registered against both the accused under the POCSO Act. Ramesh Maurya was arrested soon after the case was registered while Arjun Kumbhar was absconding,” the police official said.
The police had been looking for the other accused but he died by suicide after he hung himself from a tree near Baramati-Bhigwan Road.
The body was sent for a post-mortem and a probe is underway.
