By Rohit Kumar Singh: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national secretary and former MLA Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav has stoked a controversy after he alleged that Brahmins did not belong to India and are originally from Russia and other European countries.
Speaking at a gathering of party workers in Bihar’s Supaul on Saturday, Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav said, “Yadav community is the one which belongs originally from this country. The DNA test shows no Brahmins belong to this country and are from Russia and other European countries and now have settled here. Brahmins are trying to divide us and rule. It is important that we should chase them away from here.”
The comments made by Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav did not go down well with RJD’s ally Janata Dal (United). Party spokesperson Abhishek Kumar Jha hit out at the RJD leader and said, “The comments made by the RJD leader are atrocious. Did Parshuram come from Russia or from some other country? Such atrocious comments are made by RJD leaders just to remains in the media.”

“RJD should act against such leaders. RJD leaders by making such comments are also damaging the image of Mahagathbandhan,” Abhishek Kumar Jha said.
The BJP also took a jibe at the ruling Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, saying there was a race among the alliance partners to make controversial statements.
“I think the mental state of the RJD leader is not stable. RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha and Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha, who belong to this region, should explain whether Brahmins are originally from the country or have come from some other place,” BJP legislator Neeraj Kumar Bablu said.
In January this year, Bihar Education Minister Chandra Shekhar had courted controversy after he said Ramcharitmanas, a Hindu religious book which is based on the Ramayana, ‘spreads hatred in society’. His remarks were criticised by the opposition parties as well as RJD’s ally in Bihar the JD(U).
