By Shibimol KG: A 26-year-old woman died by suicide at Kothanalloor near Kaduthuruthy in Kerala’s Kottayam district. Her family alleged that cyberbullying by her ex-boyfriend led to the woman’s death.
According to the police, the woman was previously in a relationship with a man from Neezhur, but later they broke up mutually.

However, the man started threatening her over the phone, saying that he would upload her photographs on social media, the police said.
The woman filed a complaint with the Kaduthuruthy Police on April 30 evening. Afterwards, the man posted the woman’s photos on social media. He also posted photos of the woman’s sister’s husband, who is an IAS officer, and said if he got arrested, her brother-in-law would be responsible for it.
The woman’s family said she was very upset about that, and later killed herself.

Kaduthurthy Police registered a case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 119 (b) of the Kerala Police Act and has started an investigation.
