By Munish Chandra Pandey: The Central Bureau of Investigation, or CBI, seized Rs 20 crore in cash from Rajendra Gupta, the former chairman and managing director of the Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited – a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The central probe agency has registered a case against Gupta and his family for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Searches were conducted today at 19 locations across India, including in Delhi, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad, at the residential and commercial premises of the accused.
During the searches, around Rs 20 crore in cash, incriminating documents and digital devices were recovered from the accused.
