BJP vs Trinamool in Bengal over Murshidabad clashes, bombings

[ad_1]

By Anupam Mishra: Mamata Banerjee wants to conduct the Panchayat elections in the state with bombs and by creating panic among the locals, the BJP said, after two groups of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) clashed in Bengal’s Murshidabad on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The clashes also saw indiscriminate crude bomb attacks by the two sides.

“Mamata Banerjee is doing it deliberately to avoid the panchayat elections under the central forces because she does not want central forces in the state. That is why they are threatening the general public with violence,” BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul said.

“Bombs were not only being used in Murshidabad but across Bengal. In Asansol, nine BJP workers have been killed within a few weeks by bullets and bombs. How are these bombs coming into West Bengal? Mamata Banerjee knows everything and they have planned to do the elections with bullets and bombs,” Paul added.

The TMC has refuted the allegations and said that the BJP calls for an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) even if an ant dies (in Bengal) but ignores the violence in states ruled by it.

Bengal minister Shashi Panja accused the BJP of lying about Bengal and said that the party has no work other than creating a fuss about the TMC and demanding an NIA investigation into every matter.

Massive bombings were reported from Kharera in Murshidabad as two groups of the TMC clashed late Monday night. According to sources, the clashes began over area domination. The bombings, which began around midnight, went on until a huge police force reached the spot last morning, they said.
