By Rittick Mondal: A man was injured in a shootout in Bengal’s Budge Budge this afternoon on the busy Budge Budge trunk road. The victim, Shaikh Altab Uddin, who was on a bike, was attacked by some unidentified miscreants.
According to sources with the police, Sheikh Altab Uddin, a witness in an old case, was returning home after appearing before the Alipore Court by train. He got down at the Budge Budge station and was on his way home on his bike when he was shot at, they said.

The police, including senior officers, rushed to the spot. The victim was taken to a nearby nursing home before being shifted to the state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata as his condition deteriorated. Additional forces have been deployed for his security.
The attack was caught on camera, based on which the police have initiated a probe.
