By Anupam Mishra: A fresh incident of violence was reported in Manipur’s Tronglaobi Bishnupur district on Thursday. One police commando, identified as Hiren, was killed while five others were injured in a gun battle between the Manipur Police commando and a few miscreants. The casualty cases are yet to be confirmed, claimed the police.
The police suspect the involvement of militant groups behind the attack.
The incident took place in the morning at around 10 am when a few miscreants opened fire at the state police. The Manipur State Police Commandos received information that a few miscreants were hiding in a hill area. According to reports, when the police reached the spot, they opened fire at the police.

Manipur Police has sent reinforcement to the area to nab the attackers. This is the second such incident where security forces were targeted in Manipur.
This attack comes after an Assam Rifles jawan was injured when a column of the paramilitary force on area domination was fired upon by some armed miscreants at around 11 am on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in Manipur East’s Dolaithabi when a team of the Assam rifle was patrolling the area.
After the incident, the personnel was rushed to a hospital while the miscreants flew from the spot. The personnel is currently undergoing treatment.
