By Siraj Qureshi: Agra Police has arrested five people, including the head of NSEIT, an agency which conducted the Uttar Pradesh Inspector recruitment exam, on suspicion of their involvement in facilitating cheating. They have been accused of using screen-sharing software to cheat in the exam via a solver.
The examination for the recruitment of inspectors in Uttar Pradesh was held between November and December in 2021.
According to an administrative officer, Hafiz Urrahman, a senior employee of the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Examination, Lucknow, filed two FIRs at the Sikandra police station in Agra. One FIR was filed in 2022 and the other one was filed in 2023.
40 QUESTIONS IN LESS THAN 5 MINS
The FIRs claimed that the applicants had answered more than 40 questions asked in the examination in 4 minutes 32 seconds, which means that a candidate had spent less than 9 seconds solving a question, which is not feasible. Several candidates have also been arrested in the case.
According to investigator Uttam Chand Patel, the names of numerous officers and staff of the company that conducted the inspection have come to light during the investigation. These personnel were working together with the examination centre employees and the candidate with whom the deal for copying was made was made to sit on the computer that was remotely attached to the solver’s computer.
