By Arvind Ojha, Jitendra Bahadur Singh: A member of the banned group Popular Front of India (PFI) was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader SK Srinvasan.
Srinivasan, a former district leader and office-bearer of the RSS, was attacked by a six-member gang at his motorbike shop on April 16, 2022.
The arrested person, identified as Saheer K V, was absconding since the murder of the RSS leader.
The NIA spokesperson said that Saheer K V, who had a reward of Rs 4 lakh on him, was located and arrested by an NIA Fugitive Tracking Team (FTT) at a relative’s residence in Palakkad. This arrest is being considered a significant breakthrough in the case.

According to the official, the investigations carried out by the NIA have revealed that the accused, who held the position of PFI’s Pattambi area president, was engaged in various conspiracies to eliminate Srinivasan.
These actions were reportedly part of the banned organization’s larger plan to instill fear within a specific community and establish Islamic rule in India by 2047.
On March 17, the NIA filed a charge sheet against 59 individuals, including the PFI as an organization, in connection with the murder case.
Despite ongoing investigations, efforts are being made to locate and apprehend the remaining 11 accused who are currently absconding, out of a total of 69 individuals identified as involved in the conspiracy so far. One of the accused, named Abdul Naser, passed away on January 2.
