By Rajesh Saha: After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a probe into the alleged multi-crore recruitment scam in different municipalities in West Bengal.
According to a source, the arrested accused Ayan Sil has been named in the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) registered by the ED.

Earlier, an FIR was registered by CBI into the municipality recruitment scam where Ayan Sil and others were named as prime accused. In fact, it was the ED that for the first time got information about the alleged scam in municipalities and mentioned it before the Kolkata High Court. Thereafter, a single-judge bench led by Justice Abhijit Ganguly ordered the CBI to start a probe.
The ED, during a raid at Sil’s residence recently, claimed to have found and seized huge incriminating documents related to recruitment in several municipalities in West Bengal. The central agency also found OMR sheets, admit cards and a list of candidates were also found from his residence.
