By Sagay Raj: Police have arrested a Bengaluru man for killing his girlfriend over suspicion of her affair with another man. The incident occurred hours after the girl celebrated her birthday.
The incident took place in the Laggere area of Bengaluru on Friday. According to police, the accused, Prashanth, had planned an entire day of celebrations for his girlfriend, 24-year-old Navya.
Police said Navya had her birthday on Tuesday, but Prashanth was busy that day and therefore, he had planned a grand party to compensate for his absence.

After primary investigation, it was revealed that Prashanth suspected that his girlfriend was in a relationship with another man and was texting him continuously, which enraged and saddened him.
Police said after celebrating Navya’s birthday, the accused killed her by slitting her throat. An FIR has been registered at the Rajagopalnagar police station and the accused has been arrested.

Police have sent the victim’s body to Victoria Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
According to sources, Navya and Prashanth were distant relatives from Kanakpura and were in a relationship for the past six years.
