By India Today News Desk: A 55-year-old man was charred to death after a fire broke out in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district following strong winds and thunderstorm in the area. Fourteen houses were also gutted in the blaze.
According to the victim’s family, a spark in the garbage started spreading due to strong winds, leading to a massive fire. The incident took place at 8pm.

Gajendra Rai lost his life while trying to save his property. His family said that property worth over Rs 20 lakh was destroyed in the fire. A fire brigade extinguished the fire after an extended struggle.
Meanwhile, Aurai police station officials reached the site and started an investigation into the matter.

The Aurai police station SHO, Roopak Kumar, confirmed the incident. He said that Gajendra Rai’s body has been sent for post mortem.
