By Ram Kinkar Singh: The BJP, in a bid to intensify protests against Arvind Kejriwal, will begin an indefinite dharna outside the Delhi chief minister’s residence over the renovation row from Monday.
Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP chief, said the sit-in protest will be held near Flagstaff Road in the Civil Lines area, where the CM’s residence is located. He has alleged that the Kejriwal government has been involved in various scams.

The BJP, which held a similar protest earlier with a replica of a mansion, has accused the Delhi government of spending Rs 45 crore on the renovation of Kejriwal’s residence during Covid outbreak.
BJP state general secretary Harsh Malhotra will coordinate the sit-in protest, which will be led by the workers of Keshav Puram and Chandni Chowk districts, led by MP Dr Harsh Vardhan.
Documents have sources showed that a total of Rs 44.78 crore against a sanctioned amount of Rs 43.70 crore was spent on “addition/alternation” of his government accommodation on 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines. The amount was spent in six trenches between September 9, 2020 to June, 2022, the documents showed.
Meanwhile, Delhi L-G VK Saxena has ordered officials to secure the records of expenditure and sought a report on the matter within 15 days.
