Coal smuggling case: CBI arrests 2 more in West Bengal

By Rajesh Saha: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two more people in connection with the alleged coal smuggling case in West Bengal on Thursday.

According to the sources, the accused are identified as Sunil Kumar Jha and Anant Kumar Singh.

Accused Sunil Kumar Jha was said to be holding the post of Director of Operations at the Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL), a coal producer based in India. While Anant Kumar Singh was posted in the inspector rank of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

This year, on February 9, a huge amount of cash was seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the office of a businessman in Kolkata in connection with the coal smuggling case.

As per initial inputs, the probe agency conducted raids at several locations in West Bengal’s Kolkata in the wake of the scam.
