Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday claimed the “death warrant” of the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government has been issued and it will collapse within the next 20 days.
Raut, a key leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s Sena faction, said the delay in the Supreme Court judgment increased the lifeline of the BJP-Shiv Sena government or else it would have collapsed in February.
“The death warrant of this government has been issued. Only the date has to be announced. I had already said that the Shinde government would collapse in February, but due to the delay in SC judgement, the lifeline of this government increased. This government will collapse in the next 15-20 days,” Sanjay Raut was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The Rajya Sabha MP was referring to the SC verdict pending on a batch of petitions including one seeking disqualification of 16 Shiv Sena MLAs who revolted against the Thackeray leadership.
