By Pankaj Jain: The erstwhile RMR (regular muster roll) employees of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have expressed their gratitude towards Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for getting them regularised.
The RMR employees were regularised at a program organised in the New Delhi constituency on Wednesday. The employees had been working on a contractual basis for several years and hoping for regularisation for a long time.
According to a press statement issued by the Aam Aadmi Party, the NDMC had passed a proposal to regularise these jobs in 2018, and a proposal was sent to the Union Home Ministry. Kejriwal wrote letters to the Union Home Minister over the issue, and the file was cleared in February this year.

Kejriwal said the decision will benefit at least 4,500 families.
