By Munish Chandra Pandey, Amit Bhardwaj: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal left the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters after 9 hours of questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Kejriwal waved to the waiting media persons as he left the building at around 8.30 pm after nearly nine hours of questioning. The chief minister had a lunch break during the day, officials said.

While talking to the media after leaving the CBI office, Kejriwal said, “I was asked 56 questions. I answered all the questions. There was no indication that they wanted to call me again for questioning. But I again say that this entire case is ‘farzi’ (false).”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo, who arrived at the heavily fortified agency headquarters at around 11 am in his official black SUV, was taken to the first-floor office of the Anti-Corruption Branch where he was questioned by the investigation team.

During the questioning, over 1,000 security personnel were deployed outside the CBI headquarters. Section 144 was imposed in the area to ensure no gathering of more than four persons takes place.

The AAP held protests in many areas against the CBI’s summons to Kejriwal and several top leaders were detained by police.

The leaders were released from Najafgarh police station after Kejriwal left the CBI office.

The agency had summoned Kejriwal on Friday seeking his appearance as a witness before the investigation team to answer their queries on the inputs generated during the probe in which his former deputy Manish Sisodia was also arrested on February 26, they said. The AAP, however, has called the case a conspiracy against its leaders.
