By Suraj Singh: A wedding in Jharkhand’s Giridih ended in chaos after a few uninvited guests, who had sneaked in for a free meal, caused a massive commotion after being refused hot puris.
On Tuesday night, a group of young men attended a wedding party hosted by one Shankar Yadav in the Patarodi area under the Mufassil Thana limits. Sources familiar with the matter said a fight broke out after a dispute over food.
It is alleged that the young men started creating a ruckus intentionally after not being served food at the wedding. The commotion was reportedly initiated by one of the young men, who started demanding hot puris around 2 AM.
A few other young men were called in from outside, and they began hurling abuses. The situation quickly escalated, and there were reports of stone-pelting and hooliganism, resulting in injuries to three or four people.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a large contingent of police personnel reached the spot to control the situation. The police attempted to calm down the agitated guests and bring the situation under control.
The police have taken the young man who instigated the entire controversy into custody. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident further.
