By Munish Pandey: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted searches at 22 locations in Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal in connection with a money laundering probe linked to a land grab case.
The searches were being conducted at the premises of Jharkhand cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Chhavi Ranjan, who served as the Deputy Commissioner in the state capital Ranchi earlier.
The premises linked to some private persons and some other state government officers were also being searched, officials said.
A few land mafias were also being probed.
The action was being taken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
