By India Today News Desk: An encounter broke out on Sunday between terrorists and security forces in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. A search and cordon operation has been launched in the Andwan Sagam area by the security forces.
“Encounter has started at Andwan Sagam area of #Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice”, tweeted Kashmir Zone Police.
No casualties have been reported so far. More details are awaited on this matter.

On May 5, five Army jawans lost their lives in an explosion during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on May 5.
On May 4, two terrorists were killed in a gunbattle in Baramulla district. Police said incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including an AK 47 rifle and one pistol were recovered. According to police, two terrorists killed were local and belonged to the proscribed terror outfit LeT.
