By India Today News Desk: The man, identified as Jena Koda alias Motka, and his six-year-old son were reportedly picking leaves in Tenda forest when the IED exploded. The device was apparently planted by the banned Communist Party of India (Maoists) to target security personnel.

The police rushed to the scene and took the boy to Sadar Hospital after providing them primary medical care. Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar stated that the child is now in stable condition.

Earlier this week, two IEDs were recovered after a cattle was blown up in a forest near Hathiburu village. The CPI (Maoists) reportedly planted the devices to target security personnel involved in anti-naxal operations in the Kolhan area of the district since January.

The district has been plagued by IED explosions in recent months, with four villagers – including a 62-year-old woman – killed, and over a dozen CRPF jawans injured in similar incidents. The police continued to investigate and increased their efforts to apprehend those accused persons.
