By Anupam Mishra: Several shops were set on fire as fresh violence erupted during a Hanuman Jayanti rally in Odisha’s Sambalpur on Friday.

Despite heavy police presence and Section 144 being enforced in several areas, violence broke out during the rally, with the police and administration attempting to control the situation.

Earlier on Wednesday, at least 10 police personnel, including one woman cop, were injured after violence erupted during a motorbike rally in Sambalpur. Section 144 was imposed in all six police station areas of the district.
