By India Today News Desk: A Hindu man in Bihar’s Patna was thrashed by a group of locals after he was spotted on a bike with a Muslim woman. The incident was reported from a local market in the city, under the Pirbahore Police Station limits, where the man and the woman, both classmates, were stopped and questioned by locals, while they were on their way to somewhere.
According to the details, Muslim locals asked the woman to return home.
They then thrashed the man, identified as Sagar Kumar Mishra, and questioned him for being around the woman despite being a Hindu.
The entire incident was captured on camera and soon became viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the Patna Police said they have yet not received a complaint from either the man or the woman.
The police further said acting upon the viral video, they have begun an investigation into the case.
In a similar incident earlier in Kanpur, a man was thrashed and his head was shaved after he was spotted talking to a woman near a school in the city. The man was accused of harassing girls by changing his name.
During investigations, the man had revealed himself as ‘Raja’, however, his Aadhaar card stated his name as ‘Arif’.
