By India Today News Desk: The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh Police over the killing of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf by three shooters who posed as journalists in Prayagraj on Saturday.

Taking cognisance of the complaints, the human rights commission has issued notices to UP DGP, Commissioner of Police, Prayagraj, calling for reports within four weeks on the murder of Atiq Ahmed while in police custody.

The NHRC has sought a detailed report covering all the aspects leading to death, a copy of the complaint, a FIR registered against the deceased, the post mortem report, among other things.
