JDU bears cost of Nitish Kumar’s political tours: Party on Sushil Modi’s claim

[ad_1]

By Aditya Vaibhav: Expenses incurred by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s country-wide political tours are taken care of by Janata Dal United (JDU), said party president Lalan Singh. “No money is drawn from the state exchequer for political tours of CM Nitish Kumar to other states,” Lalan further asserted.

Lalan Singh’s clarification came amid allegations levelled by BJP’s leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi, who questioned the recent visits of Nitish Kumar’s political visits to Odisha in a tweet.

He also attacked the BJP and alleged that the party is trying to impede reservations in local body elections. “Politics should be done like politics – it should not stoop low.” he further added.

However, Lalan Singh avoided taking any name while answering the allegations of Sushil Kumar Modi. He (Modi) finds it difficult on the days his statements are not carried by national media, alleged the JDU chief.

“BJP’s corruption is being talked about at every nook and corner in Karnataka,” Lalan Singh claimed, adding that BJP’s government in Karnataka is one of the most corrupt state governments in the country.

It must be noted that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav are on a political tour across the country. They have met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to foster opposition unity.

The duo also visited Jharkhand to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren and are expected to meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar in the coming days.
